I do MIG and flux-core welding. MIG lays a clean weld on clean metal; flux-core copes better with outdoor work and less-than-perfect metal because it does not rely on shielding gas that a breeze can blow away. The job and the conditions decide which gets used.

The photos on this page are real repairs, including frame work that was welded and then painted to keep rust from coming back.

Welding near fuel lines, brake lines and wiring takes care. Anything heat could damage gets protected or moved first, and nothing flammable stays near the work.

MIG & Flux-Core Welding questions

Can you weld at my house?

Yes. I need a safe spot with room to work and nothing flammable nearby. A driveway is usually fine.

How much does welding cost?

It depends on the job, starting at $120. Send a photo of what needs welding and you will get a price before any work starts.

Can a rusty frame be repaired?

Often, if the metal around the rust is still solid. If the rust is too widespread to weld safely, I will tell you straight rather than cover it up.

Need mig & flux-core welding?

Call or text and describe the problem. If you can, send a photo — it usually tells me more than a paragraph does. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
