Mobile Mechanic in Folsom, CA

Folsom has the strongest 4x4 and towing culture of anywhere I serve. Between Folsom Lake, the trails east toward the foothills and the boat and trailer traffic in summer, the vehicles here work considerably harder than average — and they are the vehicles I most enjoy working on.

Working in Folsom

Towing and lake season is the thing that shapes what breaks here. Pulling a boat up out of the canyon in August is about the hardest thing you can ask of a cooling system and a transmission. If you tow, the two services worth staying ahead of are the cooling system — pressure tested, correct coolant, a thermostat that is not original — and gear ratio, because oversized tires plus a trailer is what cooks transmissions.

Broadstone, Empire Ranch and Folsom Ranch are newer with large flat driveways, which suits full-day jobs like a lift install or a front and rear regear. Historic Folsom and the older streets near the river are tighter and sometimes sloped, so let me know where the vehicle parks.

If you wheel at Rubicon or the trails off Ice House Road, a post-trip inspection is cheap insurance. Water in the differentials after a crossing, a bent tie rod you have not noticed, loose skid plate hardware — all much better caught in your driveway than on the next trip.

Folsom questions

Do you charge extra to come out to Folsom?

Folsom is inside my normal service area. You get a single price for the job before I start — call or text with your vehicle and the problem and I will quote it.

Can you work in my driveway in Folsom?

Almost always, as long as it is reasonably level and there is room to get the wheels off and work safely around the vehicle. If you are unsure, text me a photo of where it parks and I will tell you straight away.

What if my vehicle will not start or is not safe to drive?

That is the main reason to use a mobile mechanic. It does not need to be driveable — as long as it is parked somewhere I can legally and safely work on it in Folsom, I can come to it.
