Exhaust Repair in Sacramento

A loud exhaust is annoying; a leaking one can be dangerous. Exhaust that escapes before the tailpipe can find its way into the cabin, and carbon monoxide gives no warning.

Exhaust pipe with a welded bend and band clamp

I repair exhaust leaks, replace damaged pipe sections, mufflers and hangers, and fix rattling heat shields. Because I weld, a cracked pipe or broken flange can often be repaired instead of replaced.

Every repair starts with finding the actual leak. Soot trails, a ticking noise on a cold start and a rattle over bumps all point to different places, and a rusted-through hanger can let the whole system sag and crack somewhere else.

On lifted trucks and Jeeps, exhaust routing often needs attention after the lift — pipes that used to clear can end up rubbing on the driveshaft or a crossmember.

What the job includes

Exhaust Repair questions

Is an exhaust leak dangerous?

It can be. A leak ahead of the tailpipe can let carbon monoxide into the cabin. If you smell exhaust inside, keep the windows open and get it checked soon.

Why did my exhaust get loud all of a sudden?

Usually a rusted pipe, a failed gasket at a joint, or a broken hanger that let the system sag and crack. I find which one before quoting.

Can you weld exhaust in my driveway?

Yes, I bring the welder. It needs a safe spot away from anything flammable, so let me know where the vehicle is parked.

Need exhaust repair?

Call or text and describe the problem. If you can, send a photo — it usually tells me more than a paragraph does. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
