The trees are the thing to plan around. Leaves and debris collect in the cowl under the windshield and end up in the cabin air filter, and a clogged cabin filter is why so many vehicles here have weak A/C airflow by July. It is a quick fix and worth doing whenever I am out for something else.
Some lots toward the American River and around Ancil Hoffman Park slope, or have gravel or dirt drives. I need firm, reasonably level ground to put a vehicle on stands safely, so if yours sits on a hill or on gravel, text me a photo. There is usually a flat patch of concrete somewhere that works.
A lot of vehicles here are older and well looked after: a paid-off truck, or a second car that mostly does short trips on Fair Oaks Boulevard and Manzanita. Short trips never let the engine fully warm up, which is hard on oil and batteries. If your vehicle mostly runs errands, change the oil by the calendar, not just the odometer.
